Hot on the trails of our last show at The Rhum Jungle @ Cotton's, it's looking like we will be playing The Hootenanny in Brixton on 11 June!!
Arriba de Cumbia organiser Russ Jones, has invited us to open the evening, we feel honoured!
Russ Jones, AKA The Hackney Globe Trotter is one of the leading lights of the ever growing international 'global beats' music scene. He created Future World Funk a project with DJ Cliffy that had CD sales of over 80,000. He has now moved onto his solo project Hackney Globe Trotter. He has produced over 13 compilations, djed in over 40 countries and headlined festivals like Womad, Glastonbury, Bestival, Roslkilde and Love Box. He currently has a monthly HGT residency at London's Notting Hill Arts Club. In his weekly show on OpenAir, Russ Jones plays a world beat mix up, covering everything from Cumbia to Soukous, gypsy, latin hip hop, reggaeton, dubstep, raverton, afro beats, vintage classics and beyond, well worth a listen.
